Such a delightfully ridiculous premise. I wish more big budget games these days could be as crazy as Battletoads.

Cloud

Here's my first drawing of Cloud Strife in close to fifteen years. I've always wondered why I never see materia affixed to any part of these characters' weapons or armor in illustrations. I decided to fix that. I have him equipped here with Lightning and Steal materia on the weapon, and Restore, All, and Counter attached to his armor.

Here are a few of the ink sketches I did over the course of my week at the IMC.

Illustration Master Class 2012

I was fortunate enough to attend the Illustration Master Class this year, and have my work critiqued by some brilliant artists, as well as work alongside many other talented (sorry Greg) students. It was an extremely intimidating, humbling, exhausting, and exciting week, and I'd gladly do it all over again. I'm anxious to apply the reinvigorated drive to work and beyond.

Here is the piece I did during the week. It's based on the John Scalzi novel "Old Man's War" about some senior citizens who have the opportunity to transfer their consciousness into a young, genetically enhanced clone in exchange for a few years of serving in a space army fighting aliens out on distant planets.
